FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about sessions and events.
What can I come to you about? +
Any questions about couple and family relationships; parent-child relationships (both with your children and with your own parents); personal and age-related crises; and working toward goals and dreams. See the “What I work with” section on the home page for more.
What do you NOT work with? +
Anything that requires medication (psychiatry, clinical depression, psychosomatic conditions), as well as addictions, panic attacks, insomnia and eating disorders. I'm not a specialist in these areas — I can offer only general suggestions and can't guarantee results, so it's better to see a specialist in those fields.
What if I want to send a loved one (a child, parent, or spouse) for a consultation? +
We all want our loved ones to live healthier, happier lives — especially when their struggles weigh on us too. So it often feels like, if only they'd get professional help, the whole family could breathe easier. But such good intentions often meet resistance: the person isn't ready to be cast as the one “at fault” and takes the advice as pressure. They need to be motivated, not forced — without their own desire, the work is unfortunately of little use.
What you can do for them is share how you see the situation and suggest they see a specialist (the one you recommend, or one they choose themselves). You can also offer to help with the cost. Even so, be prepared that they may decline (or promise and not follow through): this kind of inner work is for brave people who are ready to take responsibility and change themselves and their lives.
If a loved one's struggles are affecting your life too — come for a consultation for yourself. If you're the person “who holds everything together,” you're the one who needs strength, calm and a clear understanding of the situation. That's what I'd be glad to talk through with you.
How much do the services cost? +
Consultations — individual, couple or family — are one price: $110 (60 min) or $160 (90 min). With 3–5 prepaid, $95 or $145 each. A 10-session package — $850 (60-min) or $1350 (90-min).
Individual online constellation — $160 (90 min).
Prices for group and on-site events are announced when they are scheduled.
Prepaid sessions can be used within 12 months. See the “Services & pricing” page for details.
What is your experience and background? +
I trained as a psychologist and work as a family consultant, with 30 years of experience (I graduated from a Moscow university in 1995). I have facilitated systemic constellations since 2005, and was an NLP trainer (1996–2010, leading trainings at major venues in Moscow and St. Petersburg). I specialize in the psychology of immigration: since 2010 I've lived in Florida and worked with Russian-speaking immigrants.
My toolkit also includes systemic family work, body-oriented and provocative approaches, and ongoing professional development with international specialists. From 1995 to 2018 I contributed to leading Moscow publications (Forbes-Woman, Domovoy, Cosmopolitan and others). I'm the author of books, hundreds of articles, video interviews, the radio blog “Parallel Reality — the psychology of immigration,” and the video project “Parents and Children: growing up together.”
How many sessions might I need? +
It's very individual and depends entirely on your wishes and circumstances. For an initial read of the situation (what is happening and why, what depends on you and what doesn't) plus general guidance, a single 90-minute consultation is enough. If you're ready to go deeper — understanding your own patterns, learning to see hard situations differently, working with your limits — it may take longer. You decide the number, frequency, length and depth of the work; I follow your lead.
Do you work with children, and on what terms? +
Yes — with children over 12 who speak good Russian, and only if the child THEMSELVES wants to talk to a specialist and has asked a parent only to find and pay for one. If the child doesn't agree, is under 12, or doesn't speak and understand Russian well, I work with a parent instead — coaching them on how they can help the child (and themselves as a parent).
Do you work with families and couples? +
Yes, but with the mutual agreement of everyone involved. If a family member or partner isn't ready to talk to a specialist, that's fine: we work with the parent (without the child) or with one partner (without the other). It's effective either way: even when just one person clarifies the situation and finds new options — how to respond in typical conflicts, how to navigate flashpoints, how to regulate their own feelings — it brings relief to everyone.
At a minimum you get a clear read of what's happening in the relationship and why, and an understanding of your options. At most: if you change your 50% of the dynamic, the other person has to adjust — and can no longer follow the old script.
Do you work in English? +
Not yet, unfortunately.
Can I get a refund for prepaid sessions? +
Prepaid sessions can be used within 12 months of purchase. Payments are non-refundable.
